MELBOURNE - Mar 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough over the central parts of New South Wales weakens as it moves to the northeast tomorrow. This trough extends over the southern coast and is associated with a southerly wind change moving up the coast before stalling near the the central parts this evening. Into the new week a strong high pressure system south of the Bight will extend over the southern Tasman Sea pushing the trough back over inland New South Wales. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the eastern and northeastern half of the state, more likely in the southeast. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, with southeast to southwesterly winds elsewhere.Sunday 23 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms in central and eastern districts. Chiefly south to southwest winds, with north to northeasterly winds about the far northeast of the state.Monday 24 MarchIsolated showers across the eastern two-thirds of the state, tending scattered about the northeastern third with isolated thunderstorms. Dry in the southwest. Generally east to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 25 MarchIsolated showers in all districts apart from the southern inland. Showers tending scattered about the northeast quarter of the state. The chance of thunderstorms about the central north of the state.
