MELBOURNE - Mar 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over northern New South Wales will deepen later today in response to an upper level trough moving through. The surface trough will weaken and move to the west during Thursday as a high pressure system moves over the southern Tasman Sea extending a ridge across the east of the state. The next trough is expected to move over southwestern parts of the state during Friday, then slowly towards the northeast over the weekend before weakening over central parts of the state. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms apart from in the south. Showers tending scattered in the northwest and about the far north coast. Thunderstorms becoming more likely in the northwest during the afternoon. Dry and mostly sunny in the south. Early fog patches in the east. East to southeast winds.Friday 21 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west and south. Possible isolated showers over t5he remainder, more likely on the north coast and adjacent ranges. East to northeast winds.Saturday 22 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, more likely coast and ranges. Northwest to northeast winds, tending south to southeast in the south.Sunday 23 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms in central and northern districts. Generally dry in the south.
