Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will move over southeastern SA overnight. A high pressure system to the west of Perth extends a ridge of high pressure over the west of the State. This high will gradually move eastwards across South Australia during this week, followed by a second high that is expected to develop south of Western Australia later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered over the Lower South East and southern coasts and ranges south of about Adelaide. Cool to mild with moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh in the south, turning southwest to southeasterly in the north.Monday 17 MarchIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered over the southern agricultural area during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly winds in the south and light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds in the north.Tuesday 18 MarchFine apart from isolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north and west with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, turning east to northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 19 MarchFine apart from isolated early light showers near southern coasts. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north and west with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 20 MarchFine. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, freshening in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the agricultural area, reaching 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 10 mm with local falls about southern coasts and ranges.Friday until SundayPossible isolated showers near southern and western coasts gradually extending east and north to most areas south of about Coober Pedy on Sunday. Generally warm to hot with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
