Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front moved into southwestern New South Wales late yesterday, and is continuing through central parts towards the northeast today, accompanied by unsettled conditions in many areas. Behind this, a cooler and drier airstream is spreading over the region as the next high pressure ridge pushes across from the west. The northeast may remain a little unsettled early in the new week due to a lingering trough, with other parts expecting generally benign weather under a fairly weak pressure pattern.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, locally squally. Dry elsewhere apart from isolated showers about the south coast and southern ranges. Fresh to strong northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast. Drier southwesterly winds over the remainder, reaching the northeast tonight. Dangerous surf conditions along the entire coast.Monday 17 MarchFine apart from the chance of light showers in the far northeast and along the Victorian border. Mostly sunny. Dry southwesterly winds, tending southeasterly in the northeast. Dangerous surf conditions along the entire coast, easing.Tuesday 18 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms over the northern tablelands. The chance of showers over the southern Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds inland, tending northeasterly near the coast.Wednesday 19 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers about the remainder of the coast and eastern ranges. Dry elsewhere. Southeast winds.Thursday 20 MarchIsolated showers possible about the coast and ranges. Dry remainder.
