MELBOURNE - Mar 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over western Victoria will extend eastwards across the State during the afternoon and evening. Another weaker cold front will cross the State during Monday. A ridge of high pressure will extend across Victoria during Tuesday then persist for much of the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in western and central districts, spreading to eastern areas this evening. Fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler westerly change in the west, extending eastwards across the remainder of the State during the afternoon and evening.Sunday 16 MarchIsolated showers, mainly in southern and mountain areas and tending scattered near the coast. Cool with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds.Fire Danger - High, locally very high in the north.Monday 17 MarchIsolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges. Mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 18 MarchIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Fine in the north. Mild to warm with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 19 MarchFine apart from coastal showers.
