Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over the west of the State will move southwards towards mid week with a high pressure system developing to the south of the State on Wednesday. A series of low pressure troughs will move over the south of the State until early next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the Lower South East district, and northeast of Leigh Creek to Coober Pedy, contracting eastwards. Cool in the south grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout, tending more westerly in the south.Sunday 16 MarchPossible early morning isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba to Oodnadatta. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered over coasts and ranges south of Clare during the morning, and then again late evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, tending west to northwesterly at times in the south.Monday 17 MarchIsolated showers over the agricultural area, increasing to scattered over coasts and ranges south of Clare during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwesterly winds in the south and light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds in the north.Tuesday 18 MarchFine apart from isolated showers over the southern agricultural area to the south of about Cleve to Keith. Mainly mild to warm with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 19 MarchFine apart from isolated early light showers near southern coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon through until midnight on Wednesday are expected to be up to 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts and ranges.Thursday until SaturdayFine until isolated showers develop near southern and western coasts later Friday, extending over areas south of about Adelaide on Saturday. Mild to warm with mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
