MELBOURNE - Mar 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front crossing the Bight will reach southwestern Victoria later on Saturday morning, then extend eastwards across the State during the afternoon and evening. Another cold front will approach western Victoria on Sunday night, then move eastwards across the State and weaken during Monday. A ridge of high pressure will extend across Victoria during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers and local thunderstorms spreading eastwards across the State during the day and tending to rain in some eastern areas this evening. Warm, freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler westerly change, reaching the southwest around midday then extending eastwards across the remainder of the State during the afternoon and evening.Fire Danger - High to very high.Sunday 16 MarchIsolated showers, mainly in southern and mountain areas and tending scattered near the coast. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds.Monday 17 MarchIsolated showers extending form the southwest to reach the north and east during the afternoon and tending scattered in the southwest. Mild with moderate northwest to westerly winds.Tuesday 18 MarchIsolated showers in the south and about the ranges.
