Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1022 hPa near Kangaroo Island will move eastwards today and weaken. A deep low will move south of the State over the weekend. An associated cold front will move into the far west of the State later on Friday and move across the remainder on Saturday, with cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly winds after the front. A second front will move across the south of the State on Monday morning.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district northeast of Leigh Creek. Light to moderate southerly winds and moderate coastal sea breezes until early evening.Friday 14 MarchMorning fog patches over the southern agricultural area. Isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms extending across the west of the State. Warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds and moderate afternoon sea breezes. Winds shifting moderate to fresh southwesterly in the far west during the late afternoon and evening.Saturday 15 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over all but the far north. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds ahead of a cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly extending from the west to be near Leigh Creek late evening.Sunday 16 MarchIsolated showers over the agricultural area. Scattered showers over coasts and ranges south of Clare during the morning. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral north of about Leigh Creek. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Monday 17 MarchIsolated showers over the agricultural area, tending scattered south of Adelaide during the morning. Moderate to fresh southwest winds in the south and moderate southeast winds in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight on Monday are expected to be up to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 10 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers over southern coasts and ranges on Tuesday and Wednesday, clearing by Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
