MELBOURNE - Mar 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A middle level disturbance over the northeast of the State is weakening. A high 1023 hPa south of the Bight will move eastwards today and weaken. A deep low will move south of the State over the weekend. An associated cold front will move into the far west of the State later on Friday and move across the remainder on Saturday, with cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly winds after the front. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMorning fog patches over Eyre Peninsula and the West Coast. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district northeast of Leigh Creek. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Friday 14 MarchMorning fog patches over central and eastern parts of the agricultural area. Isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms extending across the west of the State. Warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds and moderate afternoon sea breezes. Winds shifting moderate to fresh southwesterly in the far west during the late afternoon and evening.Saturday 15 MarchFine about the northern border. Isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the remainder, with showers becoming scattered about southern coasts and ranges in the evening. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds shifting cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly from the west.Sunday 16 MarchIsolated showers over the agricultural area. Scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Lower South East during the morning. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral during the morning. Cool to mild with fresh southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight on Sunday are expected to be up to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, with local falls of 10 to 20 mm about southern coast and ranges.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Monday, tending scattered over southern coasts and ranges.
