Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over central and inland parts of the State will move northeast be located near Broken Hill to Oodnadatta by late this evening, and then move to the east of the State early Wednesday. A new high will develop south of the Bight on Wednesday, and then gradually weaken as another low pressure trough approaches the west of the State later on Friday. A significant low pressure system will move to the south of the State over the weekend producing cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly winds.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the agricultural areas, West Coast district and the south of the pastoral and Flinders districts, and also in the far northwest. Thunderstorms clearing from the south of the agricultural area this evening. Warm with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds in the north and east, ahead of a milder, fresh southwest to southerly change, extending to a line near Ernabella to Leigh Creek late evening.Wednesday 12 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the Flinders and Riverland districts and the south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated light morning showers about southern and western coasts. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 13 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Flinders and pastoral districts. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate south to southeast winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Friday 14 MarchPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the morning over the Northeast Pastoral district and developing from late afternoon over the Nullarbor Plain. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds and moderate afternoon sea breezes. Winds shifting moderate to fresh southwesterly in the far west during the late afternoon and evening.Saturday 15 MarchPossible showers and thunderstorms extending across the southern and western parts of the State during the day, then over northern and eastern parts during the evening. Showers becoming isolated over the agricultural area during the afternoon and increasing to scattered about southern coasts and ranges by evening. Moderate northerly winds shifting cooler, fresh to strong southwesterly during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight on Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural areas, increasing to 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm is expected with shower activity over the pastoral districts. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are also possible with thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural areas, scattered over the southern agricultural area during the morning, with possible thunderstorms about southern coasts. Possible showers over the pastorals and West Coast, clearing during the day. Isolated showers continuing about the agricultural areas on Monday, contracting to southern coasts on Tuesday. Cool to mild with fresh southwesterly winds, easing on Monday and Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
