Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge into New South Wales, while a trough approaches from the southwest. This trough will reach the southern border overnight Tuesday or early Wednesday as the ridge weakens and contracts east. The trough should then move to central parts of the state on Thursday before stalling, resulting in a weak pressure pattern over the region. There are early indications that a cold front may arrive later on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers over the southern and central tablelands. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 11 MarchIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers near the Victorian border, becoming more likely on the southern ranges during the afternoon, with possible thunderstorms. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds, turning northwest to southwesterly over the southern inland later in the day.Wednesday 12 MarchFine across the north, apart from the chance of a shower or two near the coast. The chance of showers and thunderstorms across southern and central districts, increasing in the southeast during the afternoon. Northeast to northwesterly winds, with a southerly change moving through southern and central districts.Thursday 13 MarchFine and partly cloudy in the southwest and most of the northern inland. The chance of showers or thunderstorms elsewhere, chiefly through southeast and central districts. Northeast to southeasterly winds in the east, tending light and variable further inland.Friday 14 MarchFine in the southwest, and about central parts of the coast. The chance of showers elsewhere, more likely in the southeast and central inland, with possible thunderstorms.
