Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A low pressure trough will enter western and central districts today then will weaken overnight. A cold front front crossing the Southern Ocean clip southern Victoria Tuesday afternoon and evening with an associated trough crossing northern districts. The front and trough will clear the east of the State Wednesday morning as a new high pressure system forms south of the Bight. The high will extend a ridge eastwards across Victoria on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayMostly fine although isolated showers and thunderstorms possible over the southwest late morning and over remaining southern and mountain districts this afternoon. Warm to hot with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds although a milder southwest to southerly change extending from the southwest this morning, but weakening this evening.Fire Danger -  High to very high.Tuesday 11 MarchFine at first. A band of patchy rain and possible thunderstorms entering the west late morning then extending eastwards during the afternoon and evening. Warm to hot moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending from the west.Wednesday 12 MarchRain with possible thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, contracting to the east during the morning then clearing during the afternoon. Isolated coastal showers to follow until evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, stronger about the coast.Thursday 13 MarchFine apart from the chance of afternoon showers about the eastern ranges. Mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
