MELBOURNE - Mar 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A low pressure trough over the Bight will enter western Victoria on Monday afternoon before weakening overnight. A cold front will enter western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon and is expected to reach central Victoria at night then will cross the east of the State Wednesday morning. Another high pressure system will reach the Bight later on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the far east, mainly about the ranges. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and mild afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 10 MarchFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over the southwest. Warm to hot with light to moderate northerly winds turning southwesterly in the far southwest later.Fire Danger - High to very high.Tuesday 11 MarchFine at first. A band of rain with possible thunderstorms developing in western districts in the afternoon, extending to central districts in the evening. Warm to hot moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending from the west.Wednesday 12 MarchRain with possible thunderstorms over central and eastern districts, contracting to the east during the morning then clearing during the afternoon. Isolated coastal showers to follow until evening. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, stronger about the coast.Thursday 13 MarchFine apart from the chance of afternoon showers about the eastern ranges.
