MELBOURNE - Mar 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system lies to the east of Tasmania, while a weakening trough in the upper atmosphere lies over southeast New South Wales. The high pressure system is extending a ridge along the coast and is expected to remain slow moving over the next few days. A new trough is expected to enter the far southwest of the state late on Tuesday extending across the central parts on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the coast and ranges as well as in the central inland. Showers tending scattered on the coast and adjacent ranges in the north and south. The chance of thunderstorms in the southeastern and central parts, more likely on the south coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds.Monday 10 MarchIsolated showers in the east, mainly along the coastal districts. Showers tending scattered over the north coast. Chance of thunderstorms over the central coastal districts. Partly cloudy west of Divide. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 11 MarchIsolated showers on the north coast and the chance of late showers in the far southwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. northwest to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 12 MarchIsolated showers in the south as well as the north coast. Chance of thunderstorms in the far southeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
