MELBOURNE - Mar 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A low pressure trough will form over the Bight on Sunday and will enter western Victoria on Monday afternoon before weakening overnight. A cold front will enter western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon and is expected to reach central Victoria at night then will cross the east of the State Wednesday morning. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the far east, fine elsewhere. Light easterly winds, fresh about the coast.Sunday 9 MarchFine apart from morning fog patches in the south and isolated afternoon showers over the far eastern ranges. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeasterly winds and mild afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger - High to very high.Monday 10 MarchFine apart from isolated showers developing over the southwest. Warm to hot with light to moderate northerly winds turning southwesterly in the far southwest later.Tuesday 11 MarchFine at first. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing in western and central districts from the afternoon. Warm to hot moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending from the west.Wednesday 12 MarchScattered showers and possible thunderstorms, contracting to the east during the afternoon.
