MELBOURNE - Mar 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high south of Kangaroo Island will move eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday and Sunday. A new high will move to a position south of the Bight around the middle of next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Pastoral and northern Flinders districts north of about Coober Pedy to Broken Hill. Cool to mild overnight. Light to moderate southeasterly winds.Saturday 8 MarchPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms mostly over the northern Flinders district and the North East Pastoral district. Fine and warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 9 MarchFine apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms clearing from the northeast corner of the State during the evening. Hot with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes ahead of a southerly change expected to move into the far west during the afternoon and evening.Monday 10 MarchHigh cloud developing over the south, possibly producing isolated showers over southern coasts later in the day. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot with moderate northerly winds ahead of a cooler, light to moderate southerly wind change moving over western parts of the State.Tuesday 11 MarchHigh cloud extending over southern parts of the State, possibly producing isolated showers about the southern agricultural areas and western districts. Fine elsewhere. Generally hot with moderate northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh southerly wind change extending over agricultural and southern parts of the Pastoral districts during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm in the south on Monday and Tuesday and up to 10 mm with shower and thunderstorm activity in the north.Wednesday until FridayFine. Partly cloudy at first about coastal districts, mostly sunny otherwise. Mild in the south and warm to hot in the far north.
