USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Mar 7/14 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Mar 7.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids traded sharply higher.  Support
came from good export demand, higher ethanol prices and the ongoing conflict in
the Ukraine continues to help support prices.  Also corn producers are holding
on to corn hoping for higher prices.  Corn had bullish export sales of 1,682,500
tonnes with 1,518,000 for 2013-2014 marketing year.  Soybeans had bullish export
sales of 1.029,400 tonnes with 722,700 for the 2013-2014 marketing year.  Wheat
also had bullish export sales totaling 600,500 tonnes with 556,100 for 2013-2014
marketing year.  Wheat closed mostly 47-72 cents higher.  Corn traded 29-38
cents higher while grain sorghum closed 59-68 cents higher.  Soybeans closed 41-
47 cents higher.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 47
3/4 cents higher from 8.28 1/4-8.88 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft
Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 52-57 cents higher from 6.66-6.73 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 62-
72 cents higher from 9.45 1/4-9.95 1/4 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat
rail was 10-26 3/4 cents higher from 7.30-7.40 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 12-15 cents higher from 4.94-
5.08 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 38 cents higher from
4.84-4.86 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 29-30 cents higher
from 4.68-4.69 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 30-37 cents higher
from 4.63-4.87 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 33-35 1/2 cents
higher from 4.64-4.74 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 29
cents higher at 4.54 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 20 3/4-32 3/4 cents lower from 4.68 1/4-4.86 1/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or
better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was 35
cents higher at 6.00 per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-
export was not available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 68 cents higher at 8.77 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 59-66 cents higher from 8.49-8.59 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 35 1/4 cents higher at
13.43 1/2 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 42
1/2-47 1/2 cents higher from 14.41-14.63 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow
truck soybeans were 41 1/2 cents higher at 14.40 per bushel.  Central Illinois
48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 21.10-26.10 lower from 490.90-
494.90 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 394-419
points higher from 42.74-43.34 cents per pound.
