Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will linger over northeastern Victoria during tonight and Friday. A high pressure system near the Bight will drift eastwards passing over Tasmania on Friday before reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday then consolidating over the central Tasman Sea on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms near the eastern ranges. Light to moderate southerly winds, locally fresh near the coast.Friday 7 MarchIsolated showers developing over southern areas with possible afternoon thunderstorms over the southeast. Fine over northern areas. Mild in the south, but warmer north of the divide with generally light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Moderate to High.Saturday 8 MarchIsolated showers in the east and south with possible afternoon thunderstorms near the eastern ranges. Fine elsewhere. Mild in the south, but warmer north of the divide with generally light southeasterly winds, freshening about the coast during the afternoon.Sunday 9 MarchFine apart from the chance of isolated showers over the eastern ranges. Warm inland with a light to moderate northeasterly wind but milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Monday 10 MarchFine apart from isolated showers developing over the southwest and isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the eastern ranges. A warm day with a light to moderate northerly wind turning southwesterly in the far southwest later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
