MELBOURNE - Mar 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over the northeast of the State will remain there for the next few days. A high southwest of the Bight will move eastwards to be centred south of the Bight on Thursday and Friday and then over the Tasman Sea on Saturday and Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms developing over the Pastoral districts, northeast of about Broken Hill to Hawker to Oodnadatta from late morning. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far north with moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Friday 7 MarchFine apart from isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing over the Pastoral districts northeast of about Leigh Creek to Ernabella. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Saturday 8 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district north of Yunta and the far northeast of the Northwest Pastoral district. Fine and warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 9 MarchPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba clearing during the evening. Generally fine and hot elsewhere with freshening northerly winds ahead of a southerly change expected to move into the far west in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday to midnight Sunday are expected to be up to 20 mm with shower and thunderstorm activity in the north.Monday until WednesdayFine on Monday then isolated showers developing about western coasts on Tuesday with possible showers extending over remaining areas south of about Keith to Cleve. Isolated showers extending over southern coastal areas on Wednesday and clearing from the west, with possible showers over remaining agricultural areas and the south of the pastorals.
