MELBOURNE - Mar 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure is located over the northeast of the State. Another trough of low pressure will move across the west and south of the State today and into the northeast during Wednesday. A high will develop south of the Bight on later on Wednesday and then move very slowly eastwards. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms, chiefly during the afternoon and early evening east of about Lameroo to Clare to Marree, with showers becoming scattered near the eastern border in the afternoon. Hot with moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a milder moderate to fresh southwest to southerly change reaching a line near Tarcoola to Lameroo late evening.Wednesday 5 MarchThe chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district chiefly in the afternoon and early evening. Fine over the remainder apart from possible light morning showers about southern and western coasts. Mild about southern and western coasts grading to hot in the far north, with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Thursday 6 MarchFine apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral district, chiefly in the afternoon and evening. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far north with moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Friday 7 MarchFine apart from possible isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the far northeast. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be up to 10 mm with shower and thunderstorm activity in the northeast and near the eastern border. Less than 1 mm is expected with light showers about southern and western coasts on Wednesday.Saturday until MondayPossible isolated showers continuing over the Northeast Pastoral. Fine and warm to hot elsewhere with southeast to northeasterly winds. Northerly winds freshening and temperatures becoming hot throughout later in the period ahead of a southerly change expected to move across western parts on Sunday then the remainder on Monday.
