Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak low pressure trough lies over western New South Wales and a high pressure system near Tasmania is moving east extending a ridge to the north coast.The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea later today strengthening the ridge across most of the state and the trough will move further west and weaken. During Wednesday, a cold front will move across the southern parts of the state and a new trough is expected to deepen over the west on Thursday, where it will remain on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers in the northern half tending scattered near the north coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 4 MarchShowers and possible thunderstorms in the west, tending scattered in the far west in the afternoon. Morning drizzle on central parts of the coast and east ranges. Isolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 5 MarchIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the southern half. The chance of showers on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds, turning southerly in the south later and strengthening.Thursday 6 MarchPartly cloudy. The chance of showers on the northern coast. Fine over the far southwest and northern inland. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere, becoming more likely about the southern slopes. East to northeasterly winds in the north and east, tending southerly elsewhere.Friday 7 MarchFine in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere, with the chance of a thunderstorm over the southern and central ranges and inland.
