MELBOURNE - Mar 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough lies across central New South Wales and a high pressure system is moving from the west towards Tasmania extending a ridge to the northeast. The trough will weaken during today and Monday as the high moves over the southwestern Tasman Sea strengthening the ridge to the north coast. A cold front will move to the south of the state on Wednesday and a new trough is expected to deepen over the west on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayPartly cloudy in the southwest. Rain areas in the northeast contracting further northeast during the day. Showers elsewhere with the chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 MarchPartly cloudy in the southern inland. Isolated showers, tending scattered on the north coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 4 MarchIsolated showers in the west, with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Isolated showers along the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.East to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 5 MarchShowers in the southwest and the chance of thunderstorms in the southwestern half. The chance of showers about the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
