Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will extend from NSW to northern Victoria on Friday and Saturday as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge eastwards to the Tasman Sea. The high will drift eastwards across Tasmania on Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPartly cloudy over Gippsland, clear over the remainder. Moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at first about the coast.Friday 28 FebruaryMorning fog patches in the south, mainly over Gippsland. Isolated showers or thunderstorms developing over the northern inland areas during the late afternoon or evening. Fine and mainly sunny over the remainder. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and freshening afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Fire Danger -  Moderate to high.Saturday 1 MarchMorning fog patches in the south, mainly over Gippsland. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over northern districts, more frequent in the far north and mainly during the afternoon. Mostly fine in the south apart some early morning drizzle about southern Gippsland. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, freshening along the coast.Sunday 2 MarchMorning fog patches in the south. The chance of a shower or two clearing from the northwest and northeast inland and early morning drizzle possible over southern Gippsland. Otherwise fine and partly cloudy. Mild to warm moderate south to southeast winds, fresh at times along the coast at times.Monday 3 MarchIsolated afternoon showers over the east ranges and the chance of an afternoon or evening thundery shower in the far northwest. Otherwise fine and mainly sunny. Warm to hot with light to moderate north to northeast winds inland but milder near the coast with freshening afternoon seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
