MELBOURNE - Feb 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over the far northeast will remain near stationary. A high pressure system centred south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be near Tasmania on Sunday then over the Tasman Sea early next week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast of the North East Pastoral district clearing later in the evening. Cool to mild overnight with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts until mid-evening.Friday 28 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast of the North East Pastoral district, mainly northeast of about Moomba in the afternoon. Generally warm with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Saturday 1 MarchFine apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms about the eastern border area from about Lameroo to Cameron Corner. Generally warm with light to moderate southeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Sunday 2 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders Ranges and north of about Keith. Generally warm in the south grading to hot in the north with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coast.Monday 3 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north and east of a line Leigh Creek to Clare to Lameroo. Mild to warm about southern coastal areas, grading to warm to hot elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, fresh at times about the coast in the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be quite isolated with falls generally less than 5 mm. Falls of 5 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms in the northeast.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms clearing from the east on Tuesday. Isolated light showers developing about southern and western coasts on Wednesday before clearing by Thursday.
