Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough moves over the northeast of the state today followed by a south to southwesterly wind change associated with a high pressure ridge to the south. As this ridge moves over the southern Tasman Sea this weekend the trough will be pushed back over inland New South Wales where it is expected to weaken. The high pressure system strengthen over the weekend becoming the dominant circulation into the beginning of the new week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine in the southwest and far northeast. Showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered in a band extending across the Midnorth Coast and Central Slopes and Plains. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast, tending southwest to southeasterly elsewhere.Friday 28 FebruaryFine in the southwest. Showers elsewhere, tending scattered with possible thunderstorms in the west. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Saturday 1 MarchIsolated showers, tending scattered along the north coast and in the west. The chance of thunderstorms in the west. Fine and partly cloudy over parts of the northern inland. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Sunday 2 MarchIsolated showers on the north and central coasts and in the far western inland. Fine elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds, tending northeasterly on the south coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
