Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak cold front will move eastwards over the south of the State this morning. A trough of low pressure over the far northeast will move east today. A high southwest of Western Australia will be centred south of the Bight on Thursday then move slowly eastwards to be near Tasmania on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPossible isolated showers about southern coastal districts and the West Coast district, more likely over windward coasts and ranges. Isolated showers over the northeast of the North East Pastoral district. Cool to mild about the coasts grading to warm to hot in the north with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Thursday 27 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral district north of about Leigh Creek increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba, with the chance of local heavy falls. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north with moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts.Friday 28 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral district north of about Leigh Creek increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba. Generally warm with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Saturday 1 MarchPossible showers and thunderstorms about the east of the North East Pastoral district. Generally warm with light to moderate southeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Saturday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm increasing to 2 to 10 mm northeast of about Oodnadatta to Broken Hill and 20 to 40 mm northeast of Moomba. Local falls of 40 to 60 mm are possible about the far northeast corner.Sunday until TuesdayPossible showers and thunderstorms over the eastern districts, more likely near the border south of Broken Hill and north of Keith. Possible isolated showers over southern and western coasts on Tuesday. Generally warm in the south grading to hot in the north with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
