Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the northeast of the State will remain there throughout the week. A cold front will move eastwards over waters south of the State today and move across Tasmania on Wednesday. A high southwest of Western Australia will move eastwards to be centred south of the Bight on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly morning fog patches about the southern agricultural area and West Coast district, with patchy morning drizzle over the West Coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the east of the Northeast Pastoral, tending scattered in the far northeast. Possible isolated showers over the Northwest Pastoral north of Marla. Isolated late evening showers about far western and southern coasts. Mild about southern coasts, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming moderate to locally fresh during the afternoon.Wednesday 26 FebruaryPossible isolated showers about southern coastal districts and the West Coast district, more likely over windward coasts. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the east of the Northeast Pastoral district, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba with the chance of locally heavy falls. Cool to mild about the coasts grading to warm to hot in the north with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Thursday 27 FebruaryPossible isolated showers over the North East Pastoral district north of about Leigh Creek increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba, with the chance of local heavy falls. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north with moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts.Friday 28 FebruaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms northeast of about Marla to Yunta, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast with the chance of local heavy falls. Generally warm with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm increasing towards the northeast with 2 to 10 mm northeast of about Oodnadatta to Broken Hill increasing to 20 to 40 mm northeast of Moomba and 40 to 60 mm about the far northeast corner.Saturday until MondayPossible showers and thunderstorms about eastern districts. Generally warm with light to moderate southeasterly winds and moderate to fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
