MELBOURNE - Feb 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure centre over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the New South Wales north coast, while a broad trough of low pressure lies over the state's far west. This trough will move east during Wednesday and Thursday under the influence of a frontal system approaching from the Southern Ocean, stalling over the northeast as a new trough develops in the far west. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayThe chance of showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, mainly morning. Showers and possible thunderstorms developing across the southern inland and far west during the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds, freshening on the south coast, turning southerly in the far southwest later in the day.Fire Danger - Very high: Southern Riverina.Wednesday 26 FebruaryFine and partly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds turning southerly across the south and west.Thursday 27 FebruaryFine in the southwest and northeast.
