MELBOURNE - Feb 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak low pressure trough extends from Queensland to far western New South Wales and a high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea extends a ridge across the east. The trough will weaken further during today and a new trough will move over the far southwest during Tuesday. The new trough is expected to remain over the western and central parts of the state for the next few days. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers on the far north coast. The chance of showers and thunderstorms on the Alps and in the far west. Mostly clear elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Deceptively powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing and swimming for parts of the Hunter and Mid North Coast.Tuesday 25 FebruaryIsolated showers along north coast. The chance of showers or thunderstorms in the far west. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds turning southerly in the far southwest.Wednesday 26 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds turning southerly in the northwest and southeast.Thursday 27 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the far southwest and in the far northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Generally dry in the far southwest and northeast. Northeast to northwest winds.
