Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1022 hPa south of the State will move slowly eastwards and weaken. A trough of low pressure will move into the northeast of the State on Monday and remain there through the week. Another high will develop southwest of Western Australia on Monday, then move eastwards to be centred south of the Bight on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast and possibly along the northern border during the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm about southern coasts grading to warm to hot in the north with light to moderate southeasterly winds and moderate to locally fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Tuesday 25 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Possible isolated showers north of Marla and near the New South Wales border. Mild about southern coasts, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, freshening near the coasts in the afternoon.Wednesday 26 FebruaryPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and West Coast district. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the eastern Northeast Pastoral and Riverland districts, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba. Cool to mild about the coasts grading to warm to hot in the north.Thursday 27 FebruaryPossible isolated showers northeast of about Coober Pedy to Hawker increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Leigh Creek. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning to midnight Thursday are expected to be generally less than 3 mm increasing to 10 to 20 mm northeast of about Moomba with possible falls of 20 to 40 mm in the far northeast corner.Friday until SundayPossible showers and thunderstorms about eastern districts. Generally warm with moderate to locally fresh southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
