Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough extends from Queensland to inland New South Wales as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge over the NSW coast with another high pressure centre developing over the western Tasman Sea. The inland trough is expected to move westwards tomorrow and weaken ahead of a new trough that is expected to reach the southwest of the state on Tuesday. This new trough will then move slowly over remaining western and southern parts of New South Wales during Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the northern parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the northern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh about the northern coast.Monday 24 FebruaryIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast, extending through to central parts of the coast in the evening. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the southern ranges and in the far west. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds. Deceptively powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing and swimming for parts of the Hunter and Mid North Coast.Tuesday 25 FebruaryIsolated showers along central and northern parts of the coast, contracting northward during the morning. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the southern ranges and in the far west. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds turning southerly in the far southwest.Wednesday 26 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms extending from the south and west. North to northeasterly winds turning southerly in the northwest and southeast.Thursday 27 FebruaryPartly cloudy. Isolated showers and thunderstorms, clearing from the southwest. Mainly fine over most of the northern slopes and plains. Northeast to northwest winds.
