MELBOURNE - Feb 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1026 hPa southwest of Kangaroo Island will move slowly eastwards and weaken. A trough of low pressure will move into the northeast of the state on Monday and remain there through the week. Another high will develop southwest of Western Australia on Monday, then move eastwards to be centred south of the Bight around Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Mild to warm about southern coasts grading to warm to hot in the north with light to moderate southeasterly winds and moderate to fresh southerly afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 24 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms after midday northeast of about Moomba. Mild to warm about southern coasts grading to warm to hot in the north with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds.Tuesday 25 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers north of about Marla to Moomba, with possible isolated thunderstorms in the same area but to the east of Oodnadatta. Becoming cooler near southern coasts, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, freshening near the coasts in the afternoon.Wednesday 26 FebruaryPossible isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and West Coast district. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and north of the Flinders district, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba. Cool to mild about the coasts grading to warm to hot in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning to midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the southern agricultural area. Falls of 1 to 10 mm are possible over the Northeast Pastoral and north of the Flinders district, increasing to 10 to 20 mm northeast of about Moomba.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of about Coober Pedy to Renmark, possibly extending into the north of the agricultural area on Saturday. Showers increasing to scattered with isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba.
