MELBOURNE - Feb 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough extends from Queensland to northeastern New South Wales as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge over the NSW coast. As the high moves further east another high centre will develop over the western Tasman Sea today and the trough will move westwards and weaken. Another trough is expected to reach the southwest of the state on Tuesday then move slowly over remaining western and southern parts during Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, clearing from southern and central parts during the day. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northern inland, mostly during the afternoon. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh about he northern coast.Monday 24 FebruaryIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast. The chance of showers on the Alps and the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far northern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 25 FebruaryIsolated showers on the far north coast and the chance of showers in the far northwest and on the far south coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds turning southerly in the far southwest.Wednesday 26 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the northeast. Isolated showers on the south coast and ranges. The chance of showers elsewhere.
