MELBOURNE - Feb 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge over Victoria and along the NSW coast, the ridge will strengthen over the weekend with a high centre developing over the Tasman Sea. A trough and moist airmass remain over inland Queensland, this system may bring isolated showers to the northern inland over the weekend, mostly along the Queensland border. The next front is expected to reach southwest NSW on Tuesday, then to weaken over the west and south Wednesday with the humid airmass extending into inland NSW from Queensland. Computer guidance suggests that an upper trough may interact with this airmass resulting in an increase in showers over parts of the state at the end of the week.
