Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A deep low pressure system southeast of Tasmania with a trough to northeastern New South Wales is moving to the southeast and weakening and a high pressure system is moving south of the Bight extending a ridge behind the trough. This high will move very slowly east over the next few days strengthening the ridge to the state's north coast while a week trough remains over the northeastern inland. The next significant trough is expected to move through southeastern Australia during Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayShowers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast, easing during the evening. Thunderstorms possibly severe. Mostly clear elsewhere. Cooler, drier southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout, fresh and gusty in the far west and southeast.Friday 21 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast and the chance of showers on the south coast. The chance of thunderstorms about the northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 22 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast, and about the south and central coasts. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Sunday 23 FebruaryIsolated showers on the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 24 FebruaryIsolated showers on the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
