MELBOURNE - Feb 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low near Tasmania will be slow moving before moving southeastwards on Friday. A high to the south of Western Australia will move slowly eastwards to be centred south of the Bight later on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered with isolated thunderstorms over the South East district until evening. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts.Thursday 20 FebruaryIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, and over remaining coasts. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north.Friday 21 FebruaryPossible isolated light showers near the coasts, contracting to far southern coasts in the afternoon. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool in the south, grading to mild to warm in the north.Saturday 22 FebruaryPossible isolated morning showers about southern coasts. Isolated showers developing in the far northeast. Mild about the coasts grading warm in the north with mainly moderate southeasterly winds.Sunday 23 February Fine apart from isolated showers north of about Marla to Moomba. Mild to warm about southern coasts grading to warm to hot in the north with light to moderate southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday evening to midnight Sunday are expected to 1 to 5 mm near the coasts, with less than 2 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area. Falls of 1 to 10 mm are possible in the far northeast. Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers north of about Marla to Moomba, contracting northeast and clearing by Wednesday. Isolated showers near southern coasts and in the Lower South East on Tuesday and Wednesday.
