Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move over the south of the State on Wednesday then a high will ridge in south of the Bight during Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers about the coasts. Possible isolated showers in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds.Wednesday 19 FebruaryScattered showers south of about Adelaide contracting to the South East districts during the morning then easing to isolated showers during the afternoon. Isolated showers elsewhere over the agricultural area with possible showers about the western coasts and southern Eyre Peninsula. Isolated thunderstorms south of about Adelaide, contracting eastwards and clearing by early evening. Cool to mild in the south and mild to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, strong at times about Spencer Gulf coasts.Thursday 20 FebruaryPossible isolated showers about western, southern and gulf coasts, more likely about southern Kangaroo Island and the South East coasts. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north.Friday 21 FebruaryPossible isolated light showers about southern and far western coasts. Moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north.Saturday 22 FebruaryPossible isolated morning showers about southern coasts. Isolated showers developing in the far northeast. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be up to 2 mm, reaching 2 to 5 mm about the southern agricultural west of Spencer Gulf and Lower Eyre Peninsula. Isolated falls up to 10 mm are possible about the Mt Lofty Ranges with 10 to 20 mm possible about the Lower South East and with thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers in the northeast possibly extending over the northern Flinders on Monday. Mild to warm about southern coasts grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
