MELBOURNE - Feb 17/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak front east of the Bight will move over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East this evening. A more significant cold front will move over the south of the State on Tuesday and Wednesday then a high will ridge in south of the Bight on Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayPossible isolated late afternoon and evening showers about southern coastal areas, more likely about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the Lower South East coast clearing during the evening. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 18 FebruaryIsolated showers near the coasts. Possible isolated afternoon and evening showers in the far northeast. Mild in the south, grading to warm in the north with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds.Wednesday 19 FebruaryIsolated showers over the west coast and agricultural area, more likely about the southern agricultural area and increasing to scattered about the Lower South East. Cool to mild in the south and mild to warm in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds.Thursday 20 FebruaryPossible isolated showers about western, southern and gulf coasts, more likely about southern Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north.Friday 21 FebruaryPossible isolated light showers about western and southern coasts. Moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be up to 2 mm, reaching 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts with isolated falls up to 10 mm about the Lower South East coast.Saturday until MondayPossible isolated showers about southern coasts saturday morning. Isolated showers developing in the far northeast on Saturday then extending west and south to be north of Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek on Monday. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot in the north.
