Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies across northeastern New South Wales and a high pressure system near the Bight extends a weak ridge across the south and northwest. The next trough is expected to cross the state during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPartly cloudy in the far west. Areas of rain, showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere contracting to the northeast. Northerly winds in the northeast, freshening during the day. Southerly winds extending through remaining districts, fresh and gusty along the coast.Monday 17 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast tending scattered about the northern tableland. The chance of thunderstorms in the far northeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Mainly southeast to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 18 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the south and in northwestern inland. Showers and possible thunderstorms in the remainder. Northerly winds tending, tending west to southwesterly in the west and southeast.Wednesday 19 FebruaryShowers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast and isolated showers on the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Winds tending south to southwesterly throughout.Thursday 20 FebruaryIsolated showers in the far northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
