Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast, while a broad low pressure trough lies over the state's west. Another low, currently over Western Australia, is moving slowly southeast, with an associated cloud band bringing rain and milder temperatures to most of New South Wales Friday through Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayAreas of rain over southern and central districts, increasing in the southwest later, though mostly clearing in the southeast. The chance of showers across most northern districts. Possible thunderstorms in the west, and along the ranges. Generally cloudy. Hot in the northwest. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening near the coast and in the far west.Fire Danger -  Very High: North Western Far Western, Upper Central west plains.Saturday 15 FebruaryAreas of rain in western and southern areas, clearing from the southwest later. The chance of showers in the northeast. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the west. Generally cloudy. Northeast to northwesterly winds, turning southwesterly in the west.Sunday 16 FebruaryShowers over the northeast half. Fine and mostly sunny in the southwest. Northerly winds in the northeast. Cooler southwest to southerly winds extending through remaining districts, fresh to strong along the coast.Monday 17 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast, possibly extending to the central inland and coast.
