Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system to the east of Tasmania extends a ridge northwards along the New South Wales coast, while a broad low pressure trough lies over the state's west. There are indications that the remnants of a low over Western Australia will move eastwards towards the end of the week, bringing milder conditions and rainfall to parts of southeast Australia, including New South Wales.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated morning showers or drizzle about the southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms on the northern tablelands. A possible late shower or two near the northern coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Fire Danger -  Very High: Southern slopes, Northern slopes, North Western, Central RangesThursday 13 FebruaryThe chance of morning showers about the northern coast. Afternoon and evening showers developing along the southern border districts, possibly extending through the central and northern ranges, with the chance of local thunder. Fine elsewhere, although cloud increasing. Hot to very hot in the west. East to northeasterly winds near the coast, freshening in the south, and north to northwesterly winds in the west.Friday 14 FebruaryAreas of rain developing across southern and central districts, with isolated showers extending to the northeast later. Mostly cloudy. Hot in the northwest. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening near the coast and in the far west.Saturday 15 FebruaryAreas of rain in central and southern areas, clearing from the southwest later. Isolated showers elsewhere. Mostly cloudy. Northeast to northwesterly winds, turning southwesterly in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
