Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system just east of Tasmania will drift slowly eastwards, to be located over the central Tasman Sea on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, a tropical disturbance will move across Western Australia and develop into a broad low pressure system over South Australia by Thursday. The low will then move across southern New South Wales and northern Victoria on Friday to be be located just east of Gippsland by Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine. Extensive areas of smoke haze over central and eastern districts, clear in the west. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at first this evening along the coast.Wednesday 12 FebruaryPartly cloudy but fine. Extensive areas of smoke haze over central and eastern districts. Very warm to hot inland with light winds. Milder near the coast with freshening afternoon southeast to east seabreezes.Fire Danger -  High to very high.Thursday 13 FebruaryCloud increasing with scattered showers developing from the west, tending to rain areas about the western ranges in the evening. Warm to hot inland but milder near the coast. Light to moderate northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 14 FebruaryAreas of rain over central and northern areas, tending to showers in the south. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to east winds.Saturday 15 FebruaryRain clearing the northern border early morning. Isolated showers chiefly on and south of the ranges. Milder with a fresh and gusty southwest wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
