Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weakening high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to northeastern New South Wales, while another high is centred to the west of Tasmania. Between these system, a weak low pressure trough is stalled on the coast north of Sydney, and another trough stretches from central Australia into western New South Wales. The inland trough will remain a feature through the next few days, while the high near Tasmania drifts slowly east. There are early indications that the remnants of a low over Western Australia may move east at the end of the week, bringing milder conditions and rainfall to parts of southeast Australia.
Forecast for the rest of MondayDrizzle patches about central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northern inland, mainly near the Queensland border. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Tuesday 11 FebruaryDrizzle patches about central and southern parts of the coast and adjacent ranges, mainly morning and evening. The chance of early showers on the far north coast. Possible afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the northern ranges and inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Fire Danger -  Very High: Most districts on and west of the tablelands.Wednesday 12 FebruaryIsolated morning showers or drizzle about he southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges. Isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms on the northern tablelands. A possible late shower or two near the northern coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Thursday 13 FebruaryThe chance of morning showers about the northern coast. Possible late showers developing along the southern border districts. Fine elsewhere, with cloud increasing. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds, freshening along the southern coast, tending westerly in the far west.Friday 14 FebruaryShowers developing across southern and central districts, possibly extending to the northeast later. Mostly cloudy. Hot in the northwest. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening near the coast and in the far west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
