Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea will continue moving eastwards tonight slipping south of New Zealand. A weak trough of low pressure over western Victoria will extend across most districts on Friday before weakening in the east on Friday night. A stronger low pressure trough will develop over the Bight during Saturday and will link to a low pressure system further south before entering southwestern Victoria on Saturday night. The trough will move rapidly across Victoria on Sunday, moving to central districts in the morning and extending through the east in the afternoon. A high pressure system will develop in the Bight on Sunday night, moving to the Tasman Sea on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated evening showers and thunderstorms in the west, although little if any rain. Light north to northeasterly winds inland and afternoon coastal seabreezes easing.Friday 7 FebruaryA generally hot and dry day with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds and isolated afternoon showers in the south. A milder southwesterly change about the southwest coast in the morning, extending to central districts in the afternoon and weakening in the east at night.Fire Danger -  High to very high.Saturday 8 FebruaryHot to very hot and mostly sunny although some milder sea breezes about the coastal fringe. Light to moderate northerly winds, shifting milder southwesterly in the west at night.Sunday 9 FebruaryHot at first with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds. A gusty southwesterly change in the west, moving to central districts in the morning and extending through the east in the afternoon. Isolated showers in the southwest.Monday 10 FebruaryFine and mainly sunny. Mild to warm in the south, warm to very warm inland. South to southeasterly winds, moderate to fresh in the south.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
