MELBOURNE - Feb 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening high pressure system slowly moves across the southern Tasman Sea extending a ridge over northeast New South Wales into the weekend with showers contracting to the far northeast of the state. Over inland New South Wales a weak trough will result in thunderstorms in the far west for the next couple of days. Another trough is expected to move across the southern parts of the state later in the weekend with temperatures increasing ahead of it. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated coastal showers in the east and northeast, mainly along the coastal fringe. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the far west, mainly in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers along the northern coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 8 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. North to northeasterly winds, freshening on the south coast.Sunday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west.
