Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge is stationary over the Tasman sea. A broad low pressure trough lies over South Australia. Winds will turn northerly over the State on Saturday ahead of another low pressure trough moving into the west, extending over the remainder on Sunday, followed by a high pressure system to the south of the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Pastoral, Flinders, West Coast and Eastern Eyre Peninsula districts, except in the far north. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north. Mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 6 FebruaryPossible isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts north of Yunta, and also over inland areas south of about Tarcoola to Port Augusta. Dry over the remainder. Warm about southern coasts, generally hot elsewhere. Light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, tending southwest to southeasterly over the agricultural area during the afternoon.Friday 7 FebruaryDry. Warm about southern coasts, grading to very hot over western districts. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and light inshore afternoon sea breezes.Saturday 8 FebruaryHot to very hot throughout with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder, fresh southerly change moving across the southern and western coasts late afternoon or evening. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the far west during the evening.Sunday 9 FebruaryA milder, fresh southerly change extending over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Remaining hot to very hot further north with mainly moderate northeast to southeasterly winds. Possible isolated morning showers and thunderstorms over the southern agricultural area and western coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm.Monday until WednesdayDry apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast of the Northeast Pastoral, contracting westwards to be confined to areas west of Nullarbor to Marla on Wednesday. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot to very hot in the far north, then temperatures rising to be hot to very hot throughout by Wednesday.
