MELBOURNE - Feb 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred near Tasmania extends a ridge northwards along the New South Wales coast. A trough lies over western parts of the state, extending into New South Wales from the interior of the country. This trough is expected to remain in the west of the state into Thursday before moving away and weakening. Another trough is expected to move across southern parts of New South Wales later in the weekend, with temperatures increasing ahead of its passage. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent tablelands, tending scattered in the north and contracting away from the south. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the far west, more likely in the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in the northwest. Southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh about the northern coast.Thursday 6 FebruaryIsolated coastal showers in the northeast, mainly along the coastal fringe. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the far west, mainly in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers along the northern coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 8 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. North to northeasterly winds, freshening on the south coast.Sunday 9 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west.
