Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Tasmania will continue to move eastwards reaching the Tasman Sea today and then New Zealand on Thursday. A weak inland trough of low pressure will develop over western Victoria on Thursday and persist on Friday before weakening out on Friday night. A stronger low pressure trough will develop over the Bight during Saturday and will link to a low pressure system further south and approach western Victoria on Saturday night.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers possible about the Gippsland coast during the morning. Fine and sunny otherwise. A generally warm day, though hot over the northwest and milder over Gippsland. Light to moderate easterly wind, fresh to strong at times near the coast.Fire Danger -  High to Very High.Thursday 6 FebruaryFine and sunny. A very warm to hot day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 7 FebruaryA generally hot and dry day with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds. A weak milder southerly change developing about the southwest and central coast with isolated late showers possible.Saturday 8 FebruaryGenerally hot to very hot and mostly sunny although some milder sea breezes about the coastal fringe. Light to moderate northerly winds, locally fresh over central areas during the morning.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
