MELBOURNE - Feb 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough is currently moving over southern and central parts of New South Wales. This is bringing cooler conditions as it moves northwards, with a high near Tasmania pushing a ridge along the coast in its wake. A trough is expected to linger over the inland during the next few days, gradually shifting westwards as the next high moves to the Tasman Sea. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers about the central coast and adjacent tablelands, shifting to the north in the evening. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the central inland. Fine elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty about much of the coast and ranges.Wednesday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent tablelands, tending scattered in the north and contracting away from the south. The chance of showers or thunderstorms over the far west, more likely in the afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot in the northwest. Southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh about the northern coast.Fire Danger - Very high: North Western fire area.Thursday 6 FebruaryIsolated coastal showers in the northeast, mainly along the coastal fringe. The chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms over the far west. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers along the northern coast.
