Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is situated over central and eastern Australia. A strong high pressure system south of the Bight will move eastwards to be centred over the southern Tasman Sea on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain and possible thunderstorms northwest of about Coober Pedy and Oodnadatta, gradually contracting westwards and clearing late evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds easing later.Wednesday 5 FebruaryPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms over and to the east of the Flinders Ranges, mainly during the afternoon. Warm to hot in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Mainly moderate east to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 6 FebruaryPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms to the east of the Flinders Ranges, mainly during the afternoon. Warm to hot in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate east to northeast winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 7 FebruaryFine. Warm in the south, grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds and light inshore afternoon sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm with the patchy rain in the north, increasing to 10 to 30 mm in areas of rain and thunderstorms through to Tuesday night. Showers and thunderstorms on and east of the Flinders Ranges later in the week are expected to produced falls of less then 2 mm.Saturday until MondayDry and hot to very hot with northerly winds ahead of a milder, moderate southerly change expected to move across the State during the weekend. Possible isolated showers may develop about southern coastal areas and the west coast following the change, but quickly clearing on Sunday. Possible isolated showers developing about the northern border late in the period associated with a trough of low pressure moving in from Queensland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
